Attorney

Part-Time for a private, non-profit organization which is the sole provider of comprehensive services in Frederick County, MD for survivors of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault and child abuse. Requires a person with a high level of maturity with the following qualifications: Law degree, Family Law experience preferred, organizational skills to manage a courthouse presence.

Salary: $25.96/hr for 20 hrs/wk. No benefits.

Family Safety Impact Strategies Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an individual to lead our impact strategies activities related to family safety including: coalition building, neighborhood funding collaborations, multi-sector partnerships and relationship building, research, public policy analysis.
  • You would directly staff the Family Safety Impact area.
  • Your work would involve identifying and prioritizing assets and gaps in human service delivery systems; managing the resource distribution and oversight process for selected non-profit agencies.
  • You would work in conjunction with the Assistant Director, Outcomes & Evaluation to facilitate the assessment and outcome evaluation process with agencies and work through an organized volunteer structure to tackle root causes of community problems to improve lives and build stronger communities.

Requirements of Family Safety Impact Strategies Manager include
  • Master's Degree in the social sciences, management, public policy or related fields and a minimum of 3 years progressively responsible experience in community building roles.
  • Expertise or experience in specific issue areas (e.g. domestic violence, sexual assault/violence, child abuse and related family safety issues) Exceptional human relations skills.
  • Experience managing or monitoring grants or funding processes and/or conducting program evaluations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of policy issues affecting the delivery of human services in central Maryland.
  • Ability to write well and produce clear, concise and accurate letters, emails, memos, summaries, minutes, documents and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and PC based information systems and networks.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, coalition-building, partnership development skills.
  • Facilitate group process and decision making and consistently meet deadlines.

Forensic Nurse Examiner Coordinator

Full-Time – Administrative responsibilities in addition to on-call

Providing FNE Program Management and first-response assistance to sexual assault victims requires a special ability to balance sensitivity with mature judgment and professionalism. If you possess these qualities, then consider this opportunity at Prince George’s Hospital Center. Our acute care teaching hospital, serving Prince George’s County and surrounding suburban Maryland, is seeking a Maryland licensed RN, to fill this challenging role.

This position partners with crisis counselors, victim advocates, educators and volunteers in our Sexual Assault Center.

Requirements:
• 18 months experience as a FNE, Certification in adult and pediatrics
• Prefer 2 years supervisor experience in a related medical field
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively with peers, subordinates and others on a one-to-one basis
• Ability to work on-call a must

Prince George’s Hospital Center SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Seeking part-time professional Crisis Counselor to work day/ evenings at the Sexual Assault Center at Prince George’s Hospital Center

Duties Include:
  • Crisis intervention services to adult and child victims of sexual trauma and their families
  • Short term therapy with children and adult victims of sexual assault and abuse
  • Group Therapy
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Counseling, LGPC, Social Work, LGSW, or other related mental health field
  • Minimum two years post-graduate experience in mental health environment
  • Good writing skills to summarize patient information and document psycho-social assessment.
  • Experience working with trauma related issues
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work independently while being a team player, flexible and motivated to learn.

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner

The District of Columbia is currently hiring for on-call Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) to assist in 24/7 coverage of the SANE program. On-call SANEs will provide comprehensive forensic nursing care to victims of sex crimes in an advanced practice nurse capacity in a new hospital-based setting. Current licensure as a registered nurse in the District of Columbia and documented completion of 40 hours Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Training or completion of a nationally recognized and accredited forensic nursing program is required. SARC is a non profit organization providing assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. We have openings for the following positions:

  • Residential Specialist (FT/PT) – Aids individuals and families in 24-hour residential program. BA in Psychology, Social Work, or related field or equivalent in experience and training. Shift work required.
  • Abuser Intervention Counselor (PT) – Counsels individuals in a group setting and plans and administers therapeutic treatment. MA in Counseling or related field.
