MCASA's Sexual Assault Legal Institute (SALI)
 The Sexual Assault Legal Institute (SALI) is a program of the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA), the statewide collective voice advocating for accessible, compassionate care for survivors of sexual crimes, and accountability for all offenders. MCASA's SALI provides direct civil legal services for victims and survivors of sexual assault. MCASA's SALI also provides technical assistance and training for attorneys, rape crisis and recovery center staff and volunteers, and other professionals working with survivors. Direct Civil Legal Services for Victims and Survivors
MCASA's SALI provides direct civil legal services for victims and survivors of sexual assault regarding:
- College Administrative Hearings
- Privacy Issues
- Peace and Protective Orders
- Family Law Matters (intimate partner assault)
- Employment
- Housing
- Crime Victims Compensation
- Referrals for Tort Cases
- Any other civil matter relating to sexual assault (some limitations regarding incest).

Technical Assistance and Training For Professionals
MCASA's SALI provides legal training, technical assistance and resources for professionals working with sexual assault victims.
- Training for Rape Crisis and Recovery Center staff and volunteers regarding the law and the legal options available for victims.
- Training and technical assistance for attorneys working with survivors.
- Checklists to help victims, advocates and attorneys screen for civil legal needs.
- Low Bono Network of attorneys interested and trained in working with victims. Low bono attorneys receive a reduced fee for their work. Contact SALI if you are interested in participating.
