MCASA E-Lert System
The MCASA E-lert is an electronic mail legislative update system for members only. This system allows MCASA to quickly disseminate information regarding the introduction and progress of a bill that is of interest to MCASA and its members. If you are interested in being part of this Legislative E-Lert service, please become a MCASA member.

Find Your Legislators
If you do not know who represents you in Annapolis, go to http://mdelect.net/ and type in your address and zip code to determine your legislators’ names.

Contact Your Legislator
To e-mail a legislator, go to http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/webmga/frmmain.aspx?pid=legisrpage&tab=subject6 and click the arrow next to your representative’s name.

Obtain a Copy of a Bill
To get a copy of a bill, go to http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/ and type in the bill number. Don’t forget to type in HB for House Bill or SB for Senate Bill before the number. For information without the bill number, scroll down and search Bill information and Status, Bill indexes or Bill Profiles.

Committees and Telephone Numbers
For information on state Senate and the House of Delegates committees and contact information for the legislators who sit on those committees, go to www.mdarchives.state.md.us/msa/mdmanual/07leg/html/gacom.html and search committees.

Publications Available
To find out more information about Maryland Government, you can request a copy of Your Voice in Annapolis, which explains the legislative process. Roster and List of Committees details the names and addresses of the 47 Senators and 141 Delegates elected from 47 districts. These invaluable publications contain information about Committee Assignments, House and Senate Officers, seating arrangements of legislators and more. There are also nine topic-specific guides published by the Department of Legislative Services entitled Legislative Handbook Series.
