MCASA Joins Letter to Congress Supporting Robust Funding for Sexual and Domestic Violence Programs

May 09th, 2017

MCASA joins over 900 local, state, and national organizations in a letter to Senators Richard Shelby, Jeanne Shaheen, Roy Blunt, and Patty Murray and Representatives John Culberson, José Serrano, Tom Cole, and Rosa DeLauro calling for increased funding for programs that address sexual assault and domestic violence under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), and the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA). Several Maryland organizations have signed on to show their support, and MCASA is proud to be a part of this effort. These programs are a vital part of eliminating sexual and domestic violence and supporting survivors, and it is critically important that they receive full funding in the coming fiscal year.
