In light of recent natural disasters and the potential for future ones, MCASA wanted to share that the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) is extending their support to those impacted across the United States. Historically, we know that individuals are more vulnerable to sexual assault in disaster-stricken areas, because basic services and resources are not readily available.
As a result, MCASA would like to identify some online resources that might be helpful:
Sexual violence in disasters informational palm card. These palm cards are free and MCASA has them available in our Arnold office.
To assist efforts in disaster-stricken areas, NSVRC has established The Relief Fund for Sexual Assault Victims. Applications must come through Coalitions and then be submitted to NSVRC for distribution. The application can be found at, http://bit.ly/relief-fundapp while additional details about the fund are available at www.nsvrc.org/relief-fund.
Please contact MCASA at 410-974-4507 or [email protected] with questions about the NSVRC resources and the Relief Fund.
