Take Back the Night

MCASA invites you to take a stand against sexual violence by joining us at the Take Back the Night event on April 1st at Lawyer's Mall in Annapolis. Organized by the Women Legislators of Maryland, this powerful event marks the beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and creates a safe space for survivors to share their stories, heal, and feel supported.

We know that sex without consent is rape, but Maryland's law still does not reflect this. Attending this event will also show that you stand in support of SB 758 / HB 496 to change Maryland's rape law by defining consent, and repealing language that focuses on whether a victim resisted.

With the legislative session ending on April 8, now is the time to make your voice heard. We need your support to come together and show how important it is to prioritize the needs of survivors and work towards preventing sexual violence in our communities. Your presence at this event will send a strong message that this issue matters.

Please join MCASA, the Women Legislators of Maryland, and supporters from across Maryland for this important Take Back the Night event in solidarity with survivors.
